Sports Betting in Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma
Sports betting is legal in Nebraska and regulated betting is available in a limited capacity, while sports betting remains illegal in both Missouri and Oklahoma (but it will become legal in Missouri in the near future after a successful ballot measure in November of 2024).
Nebraska legalized sports betting in May of 2021, but online sports betting is currently not available and there is no set date for regulated online betting to launch in the state. At this time there are only four casinos offering in-person sports betting.
In Missouri voters narrowly approved Amendment 2 in the November 2024 election, which means sports betting will become legal in Missouri before the end of 2025. That said, online sports betting likely won’t be available for several months. The amendment directs the Missouri Gambling Commission to make sports betting available in the state by December 1st, 2025, so it could still be a year before regulated sports betting is available in Missouri.
In Oklahoma sports betting remains illegal. Sports betting bills made progress in the past few Legislative sessions, but failed to pass, so legalization efforts will now have to restart in 2025 in Oklahoma.
Currently, the best option for Nebraska, Missouri and Oklahoma residents interested in betting on sports online would be to wager through an offshore sportsbook that is licensed and regulated outside of the US, while accepting American bettors.
