You can also bet on each individual game during the March Madness tournaments. Here’s an example using odds from last years Connecticut vs Iona round of 64 game.
The spread, money line and over/under odds are the three most common bets to make on a college basketball game.
- Point Spread – In this example Connecticut is a -9.5 favorite. This means a spread on Connecticut would win if they win the game by 10 or more points. A spread bet on Iona would win if they win the game outright or lose by 9 or fewer points.
- Money Line – This is simply a bet on which team will win the game outright. In this example you would have to risk $450 to win $100 betting on UConn. A bet of $100 would win $335 betting on Iona.
- Over/Under – The oddsmaker will set a total and you can bet on whether the amount of points scored by both teams in the game will be over or under that amount.
