The Baylor Bears and Wisconsin Badgers are set to battle it out Thursday night in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. The Badgers, who were the 2nd seed in the West Region had a tough game against Oregon in the third round, but they pulled ahead in the end and made the score look a lot further apart than the game actually was. Baylor on the other hand has cruised through the tournament to this point, never looking in danger against either Nebraska or Creighton.

Wisconsin is still a small favourite heading into this game. They had a little trouble with Oregon, but the Pac-12 has shown they are a very strong Conference with 3 of their 5 entries into the tournament still remaining in the Sweet Sixteen. Oregon was on a bit of a tear going into that game with one blemish against UCLA so that was a huge win for Wisconsin.

Baylor came into the tournament playing very well. They had made the Big 12 finals before losing to Iowa State there. This playoff push was probably necessary along with the Kansas State, Iowa State, Oklahoma and Texas wins heading into the tournament. Baylor is a team that is just playing very well. Nebraska and Creighton are no pushovers and they made it seem that way. All of that said the Big 12 hasn’t lived up to their Conference rankings with only the two teams who played in the Big 12 Finals remaining in the tournament. Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas State have all been eliminated.
Baylor was able to shut down Doug McDermott against Creighton en route to an early win, but the balanced attack from the Badgers will be an entirely different animal. I like the Badgers to find holes in the Bears defense and put up a good amount of points.
I see this as a bad matchup for the Bears, while Creighton was a good one. This should still be a tight game, but I like Wisconsin to come out ahead. And they showed against Oregon that a close game can turn into a bit of a blowout at the end of a game against a good free throw shooting team like Wisconsin. For this reason I like the spread over the money line.
