The Philadelphia Eagles are starting this season undefeated after a late field goal sealed a victory over the Indianapolis Colts. It was another come from behind win for an Eagles squad that has stumbled in the first half of their games in the first two weeks. The Eagles are the first team in NFL history to come back in two consecutive weeks after trailing by more than 14 points in the second half.
The Washington Redskins are coming off an impressive blowout win over the Jaguars. Through constant pressure, the Redskins got to Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne all game long forcing turnovers. The Redskins’ offense was more balanced in week two than it was against Houston in week one. Could there be a quarterback controversy brewing in the nation’s capital?

Team Breakdowns
Philadelphia: In Indianapolis, LeSean McCoy ran all over the Colts’ defense while Darren Sproles set a career-best in receiving yards with 7 catches and 152 yards. The dynamic duo was unstoppable keeping the Colts off-balance all night. Nick Foles operated with a clean pocket, rarely feeling any pressure. The Eagles defense played a bend but don’t break style, picking off Andrew Luck and stopping Trent Richardson many times in the backfield. Undrafted rookie place kicker Cody Parkey kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired. It was an all-around thrilling performance by an Eagles team that Chip Kelly has hitting on all cylinders going into week three.
Washington: In last week’s game, the first quarter resulted in the injury of Robert Griffin III after rolling out of the pocket. An MRI revealed no structural damage; however, he will miss at least 6-8 weeks. On most teams, the loss of the franchise quarterback would be a devastating turn of events. While RG3 is a perennial talent, the Redskins organization has quietly been rumored to prefer Kirk Cousins to run Jay Gruden’s West Coast offense. No one can argue with the results. After entering the game, Cousins picked up the offense and threw for two touchdowns on the way to a dominant win. He managed the offense and handed the ball off to Alfred Morris, who scored two touchdowns against the Jaguars. The Redskins’ defense manhandled the Jaguars, getting to the quarterback ten times. If the Redskins hope to stop the Eagles on Sunday, they will have to put pressure on Nick Foles.
Free Pick
Kirk Cousins can possibly take the reins of the Washington offense and run with it for the foreseeable future and beyond. The Eagles are an early season juggernaut with the two-headed monster of LeSean McCoy and Darren Sproles, which will have the league on notice after Monday night’s epic performance. The Eagles are the home team and the fans will have a lot to cheer about this Sunday. It is unknown whether former Eagles and current Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson will suit up in this week’s game. Before the current season, everyone thought that Jackson’s appearance would be the biggest headline coming into this game; however, he’s been proven a non-factor the first two weeks. If the Eagles come out and run their offense like they did Monday night against the Colts, they’ll be a formidable team all season. The Redskins will have to try to slow down the Eagles’ rushing attack by controlling the time of possession. Against the Jaguars, the Redskins dominated the time of possession, controlling the ball for 39 minutes. If the Redskins can take control again and put pressure on Nick Foles, an upset will be a possibility. This will be a one possession game in the fourth quarter. Expect the Eagles to win on another last-minute field goal by the rookie.
Eagles 20, Redskins 17
