It’s race day! The Belmont Stakes is set to take place this evening (Saturday, June 8th) at Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs, New York. The post time for the race is Saturday evening at 6:41pm EST with the broadcast airing on FOX from 4-7pm EST.
The race will take place at Saratoga for the first time ever due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park. Because of the change in venue the race will be run at a distance of 1.25 miles instead of the 1.5 miles typical of a traditional Belmont Stakes race.
There will be no Triple Crown on the line at this years Belmont Stakes. Mystik Dan won the Kentucky Derby, but could not follow up with a victory in the Preakness Stakes, which was won by Seize the Grey. Although no Triple Crown is possible the Belmont Stakes will still be an exciting race with a strong field that includes Sierra Leone, Mindframe, Seize the Grey, and Mystik Dan.
On this page I’ve outlined the best sportsbook for Californians, where you can bet on the Belmont Stakes in the State, I look at the current odds for the race and I finish up with a straight forward 3 step guide to get your bets placed on the race.

Where To Bet On Belmont Stakes in California
It is currently not legal to operate a sportsbook in the State of California. This may change in the future with a State-run betting platform a possibility, but at this time California residents must bet at an offshore betting site that is regulated and licensed outside of the United States. BetOnline.ag falls into this category as a betting site that is licensed and regulated in Panama, and that accepts players from across the United States.
The one exemption for sports betting in California is that you are able to bet on horse races across the country at racetracks. The big tracks in California such as Del Mar or Santa Anita Park will allow you to place bets on the Belmont Stakes directly at the track, and will likely have a special event planned for this years Belmont.
Check out our California sports betting section for a further look at the betting climate in the State.
