Despite New England’s dominance in the NFL over the last decade, the Giants are the one team they have been unable to figure out. The Patriots have lost three straight games to the Giants, including two Super Bowls, one of which ended New England’s chance of finishing the season undefeated.

On paper, the undefeated Patriots are the better team, but history has shown us that records don’t matter when these two teams play each other.
Brady is on another level this season and will look to channel this form into some revenge against the Giants.
Tom Brady has arguably been the best quarterback in the NFL this season and is one of the front-runners for the MVP award. This season, he also has one of the best defenses in the league, with the Patriots defense holding opponents to 17.9 points per game, which is 5th best in the league.
The Patriots have been fortunate to have a relatively healthy team, which is one of the reasons they have been so successful this season.
The Giants have been inconsistent this season and are 2-2 in their last four games. Eli Manning has played well this season, but the Giants don’t have a very good running game, which has forced Manning to throw more than he normally would.
Defensively, New York has been very stout against the run but their pass defense is the worst in the NFL, which could spell trouble against New England, considering how well Brady has played this year.
The good news for New York is that they have Jason Pierre-Paul back in the lineup, which should bolster their pass rush. In the past, New York has been able to disrupt the Patriots offense with a fierce pass rush, so they will likely stick to the same gameplan and try to frustrate Brady and hope he makes a few bad decisions on Sunday.
New England lost running back Dion Lewis for the season last week, which means that LeGarrette Blount will get a lot of playing time. If Blount can pick up a lot of yards on the ground, it will make it difficult for the Giants to commit to the pass rush, and make things easier for the New England offense.
The Giants offense will have to find a way to get their run game going as well because Eli Manning will need all the help he can get against the Patriots. Odell Beckham Junior has been sensational when healthy, but without Victor Cruz in the lineup, New York needs their running backs to play well to win this game.

My Pick
The last three times New York played the Patriots, they were the underdogs but found a way to win. As a matter of fact, the Giants are 4-0 ATS in their last four meetings with the Patriots. Although history is in New York’s favor, the fact that they have the worst pass defense and they are going up against one of the best passing offenses in the league is the reason I’m picking New England to win and cover the spread. If you aren’t confident about the 8.5 point spread, the smart play will be to take the over in this game.
