UFC fights are extremely popular to bet on. The UFC’s rise in popularity over the past several years, combined with sports betting going main stream in the United States, has resulted in UFC betting become very common across the US.
On this page I will outline the best online sportsbooks for Minnesota and Nebraska residents, look at the regulatory climate for sports betting in each state, touch on the different UFC bets you can make online, and provide 3 steps you can follow to place your UFC bets online.
Best UFC Betting Sites for Americans
- Built for American bettors
- Wide variety of competitive betting lines
- Easy to navigate betting platform
Bovada and BetOnline are our two top-rated betting sites for Americans looking to bet on the UFC online. These are the two most popular and trusted online sportsbooks serving the United States market.
Both Bovada and BetOnline accept players from Minnesota and Nebraska. For the remainder of this page I will be using Bovada.lv for the guide.
Sports Betting in Minnesota and Nebraska
It is not currently legal to operate an online sportsbook in Minnesota. In Nebraska sports betting is legal, but regulated sports betting has not yet launched in the state.
That said, as a bettor, you are able to place wagers through online betting sites that accept Americans, and are licensed and regulated outside of the United States. Both Bovada and BetOnline fall into this category.
In Minnesota sports betting is not currently legal, but there will be a push towards legalizing during the 2024 legislative session. Minnesota law makers will have to get the Minnesota Indian Gaming Association on board before legalized sports betting will be available throughout the state. Check out our Minnesota sports betting page to learn more about betting in the state.
In Nebraska voters approved some amendments to the state constitution in November of 2020. These changes legalized “games of chance”. Nebraska state legislature was then able to pass a bill in May of 2021 that made sports betting legal in the state. Unfortunately, Nebraska has not yet launched legal sports betting in the state, while the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission establishes the rules and regulations for the industry.
For the time being the only way for Minnesota and Nebraska residents to bet on the UFC is through an online betting site that accepts US residents such as Bovada.lv or BetOnline.ag.
UFC Betting Options
The most common UFC bet is simply wagering on which fighter will win.
Here’s an example of the ‘to win’ odds (also known as money line) for the Sean O’Malley vs Marlon Vera title fight from UFC 299:
In this example Sean O’Malley is the favorite with odds of -285. This means a $285 bet on O’Malley would win $100 (payout $385). Marlon Vera is the underdog with odds of +225, so a $100 bet on Vera would win $225 (payout $325).
Bovada will also offer a prop bets for UFC fights:
- Method of Victory – Bet on fight winner + how they win (knockout, submission, decision)
- Round Betting – Bet on fight winner + which round they win the fight in.
- Will Fight go the distance? – Bet on if the fight will go to a decision.
Here’s a screenshot of the round betting odds for the O’Malley vs Vera fight from UFC 299 to show you an example:
Check out our UFC betting guide for a further breakdown of these betting options.
